The ISO 9000 series of quality management standards can give you a serious competitive edge, according to a survey conducted by the European Centre for Business Excellence at Leeds University.
Benefits ranged from huge increases in efficiency and customer satsifaction to a reduction in customer complaints.
Among the benefits reported by respondents to the survey were a $6 million increase in sales from key customers as a direct result of introducing ISO 9000 by Sun Chemicals General Printing Ink - Hazelwood Pizza reduced customer complaints by 85% - J.W. Suckling Transport reported a six-fold increase in turnover over a ten year period. British Gas calculated that ISO 9000 saved £2.9 million through processed improvements and Basel Polyofins reduced customer complaints by 25%
